The Wallpaper series takes inspiration from Perkins-Gillman short story; The Yellow Wallpaper. Through the medium of domestic wallpaper and emulsion paint these paintings are an allegory for the 'woman's place is in the home'. She ceases to be an independent being and is transformed into an integral part, and indeed made of the very material, of the house. A house wife - duty bound to the house - isolated and despairing.
